In 2011, I took Mom out on a
"sightseeing" tour of
Eugene-Springfield. We visited
many places that spring day.
It was one of the million
dollar days that come to the
Northwest in the spring.
We stopped at Hendricks Park
and found a beautiful bush
that she wanted to explore
more of. I asked and she
agreed to recite this
poem.....
The Poem
Hey! Good Lookin'!
In 2012, Mom needed rehab at
The Marquis in Springfield. As
luck would have it, I was in
Oregon on my bi-annual visit.
Throughout the process she
remained her same optimistic
self AND entertained the staff
along the way. We were lucky
enough to capture one of her
favorite tunes AND I was lucky
enough to join in a duet!
We were able to get her
transferred to Gateway Living
from Spring Valley Assisted
Living as well while I was in
town........smooth as silk.
On May 30, 2010, Marjorie turned 90. We had
a small celebration at Eagle Rock Lodge on
the McKenzie River. That day we were able to
capture a few of her favorite songs and
sayings "performed" by the river. Some of
those are displayed here.
I created a little video for Mom when she
first moved into an Assisted Living
Facility. This is the intro for that video.
From May 30, 2010. "As Time Goes By".
On one of our early visits in 2005 to visit
Mom we had the joy of recording a FEW of her
"GoTo" tunes. She had become somewhat famous
for singing a few little "diddies". This is
a small representation of those.
