First let me apologize for being so late in sending this email…..but I wanted to express to you and the entire staff at Kapalua my utmost appreciation for your efforts in meeting my goofy request….As a reminder, I am the goof that had called early in 2002 - January I think - seeking a location to play 50 holes of golf on my 50th birthday in the 50th state in the Union.

You were initially surprised by this crazy request and gently reminded me that it was NINE MONTHS AWAY! …..smile….I suppose my persistence paid off. As November 8 approached - and after several calls to reassure myself that it could still come off - you indicated to me, sight unseen, that it would be no problem and you could handle this request at the resort. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I want you and everyone at Kapalua to know that not only did I - and Debbie - have the time of our lives on November 8, but we are planning a return trip as soon as is practical….and only because of the unbelievable hospitality we experienced while at Kapalua. Your staff seemed to go out of their way to ensure that we had a pleasant experience and BOY did they succeed!. They all seemed to be at our beck and call.

I know that even though the Kapalua staff was offering this level of service to all guests at the resort, Debbie and I felt that we were your only focus….. That, to me, is the best compliment I can pay Kapalua….and the golf courses weren't half bad either!…..
